Guide Rings, Guide Bands and Bearing Elements
Guiding elements prevent metallic contact of the movement between piston and cylinder or piston rod and housing that occurs under load. Made of compound fabric they are available ready-made as a ring, as well as by the metre. Guide rings made of compound fabric materials are characterised by their extraordinary wear resistance. Guiding elements made of PTFE materials boast a low stick-slip tendency, especially under slow movements and high radial forces.
Versions with a structured surface are also available. Different slot angles are possible, and step cuts can also be made for a closed guiding element. Bronze slide bearings and composite slide bearings, in low-maintenance or maintenance-free versions, are ideally suited for continuous operation and frequent standstills. They also boast a low stick-slip tendency and can be used for rotational, oscillating and also translational movements, both as a cylindrical version and as a version with flange.
