Materials
The following standard materials are available for different applications and temperature ranges. Other plastics and elastomers can be used for for the food industry or for special requirements. Please talk to our application engineers.
Available elastomers
- NBR: good mechanical properties, standard material for general applications
- H-NBR: very good mechanical properties, resistant e.g. to hot water and steam
- PUR: good compression set, good hydrolysis resistance, wear resistant, good low-temperature stability
- FKM: suitable for high temperatures and aggressive media
- EPDM: suitable for use in hydraulic fluids on phosphate ester basis, brake fluids on glycol basis, hot water and hot steam
- VMQ: preferred use in foodstuffs and medical technology field
Available Plastics
- PTFE: virtually universal chemical and high thermal resistance
- POM: material with high strength and stiffness
- PA: high hardness, strength, stiffness; good sliding and emerg. running properties
- PEEK: high-performance plastic, excellent mechanical properties, very good chemical resistance
- PE: extraordinarily high impact strength and notch impact strength, good frictional behaviour and abrasion resistance
